Why Sky Zone Is the Perfect Homeschool Field Trip

Sky Zone isn't just fun for the kids — it's easy on the parents, too. Families can play, connect, and enjoy time together.

Why Sky Zone Is the Perfect Homeschool Field Trip

Looking for a fun, active outing for your homeschool group? Sky Zone might be exactly what you need — especially on a rainy day when outdoor plans fall through. We recently took our homeschool kids for a visit, and it did not disappoint.

A Great Rainy Day (or Any Day) Activity

Stuck inside because of the weather? Sky Zone is a great place to go on a rainy day. With everything happening indoors, the weather outside doesn't matter one bit — the kids can burn off all that energy no matter what's happening outside.

Slides, Ziplines, and Trapeze — Oh My!

One of the first things the kids noticed was the slides. As one of our young reviewers put it: "I like the slides. They go faster than regular slides." Beyond the slides, Sky Zone also has a zipline, swings, and trapeze, which the kids agreed was pretty cool.

One of our more experienced jumpers (AKA the dad), had a helpful tip for anyone trying the slides or zipline for the first time: keep your body tucked in to avoid rug burn. He thoroughly enjoyed the slides and said they were a lot of fun for people of all ages — so don't worry, this isn't just for the kids!

Dodgeball and Friends

For the kids who love a little friendly competition, dodgeball was a highlight. One of our reviewers said simply, "I had fun playing dodgeball with my friends." It's a great way for homeschool kids to socialize and get some team play in with peers.

Not Too Crowded, Plenty of Time

We visited on a Friday morning during the summer, and it was surprisingly not overly crowded. This meant the kids were able to run from activity to activity without much of a wait — a big win for a homeschool group that wants to make the most of the trip. There was enough time to do everything, so no one felt rushed.

Here's how it works: when you arrive, you get a wristband in a specific color. Every 15 minutes, they announce your wristband color over the loudspeaker to let you know your time in that area is up and it's time to rotate. It keeps things organized and fair for everyone.

A Relaxing Spot for Parents, Too

Sky Zone isn't just fun for the kids — it's easy on the parents, too. There are sofas placed throughout the facility, so watching parents can sit and relax while keeping an eye on their kids. The whole facility was clean, and all the equipment was in good working order, which gave us peace of mind the whole visit.

Little Extras That Make a Difference

A few small touches stood out:

  • Grip socks with style — the socks (required for jumping) have really cool designs on them, which the kids loved.

  • Snack break — if you need to take a break, you can grab an ICEE to cool off and recharge.

  • Friendly staff — the staff were all really nice, which made the whole visit even more pleasant.

And if you're planning a birthday celebration, Sky Zone also hosts parties — your child can even be the "Birthday Boss" for the day!

How the Kids Felt

Maybe the best review came from one of the kids themselves: "I had fun being there with my friends!" That kind of joy and energy is exactly what we hope for on a homeschool field trip.

Homeschool Days Are Coming!
