Expectations & Code of Conduct
Expectation Disclaimer
At C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection, we are committed to fostering a supportive, respectful, and kind community for families engaged in our various educational programs. By participating in any of our programs, families agree to uphold the following expectations, which will guide our interactions, contributions, and collective growth.
Code of Conduct - What You Need to Know
Contribution to a Positive Community
We believe that a strong, welcoming community is vital to a successful educational experience for all members. Whether through our homeschooling cooperative, organized field trips, or any other C.R.E.A.T.E. program, members are expected to actively contribute to creating an environment that is respectful, kind, and supportive for both children and adults. Bullying, exclusion, or disrespect will not be tolerated in any form.
• Language & Actions: Be mindful of your language and actions when interacting with other families. Foster an environment where everyone feels supported, respected, and valued.
• Collaboration: We encourage positive interactions and a spirit of collaboration across all programs. Share resources, knowledge, and opportunities that benefit the collective community.
Open & Constructive Communication
Effective communication is essential to ensuring the continued success of all C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection programs. Members are expected to engage in open, honest, and respectful communication to support growth, improvement, and problem-solving.
• Transparency: Share your experiences, feedback, and concerns regularly with program leaders. This will help us understand what’s working and where we need to improve.
• Respectful Disagreements: If disagreements arise, focus on resolving issues respectfully and constructively, without personal attacks. Differences in opinion should be handled with kindness and a willingness to listen. Misunderstandings often come from miscommunication.
Flexibility and Adaptability
Life can be unpredictable, and we understand that flexibility is key in the homeschooling and educational space. Whether changes arise in scheduling, class offerings, or other aspects of our programs, we ask all members to approach these situations with patience, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset.
• Adapting to Change: Be prepared for unexpected changes, whether related to class schedules, program availability, or new initiatives. We encourage all members to maintain a positive attitude when adjustments are needed. We will do our best to provide as much notice as possible if changes occur.
• Problem Solving: When faced with challenges or unforeseen circumstances, collaborate with others to find solutions that are fair and beneficial to all involved.
Commitment to Participation
Active participation is crucial to the success of C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection programs. Families are expected to engage regularly in the programs they participate in, whether through teaching, volunteering, or assisting with logistical tasks such as setup, cleanup, or administration.
• Regular Attendance: Consistent participation is key to maintaining a successful learning environment and building a supportive community. If a family cannot attend an event or session due to illness or emergencies, they should inform the program leaders as soon as possible.
• Shared Responsibility: Every member is expected to contribute in some way. This may involve teaching, organizing, or helping with the day-to-day operations of the programs, including administrative tasks and event support. No task is too small!
Financial Contributions
All families participating in C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection programs are expected to contribute to shared expenses, which may include facility rental, materials, and other operational costs. These financial contributions help sustain the programs and ensure that the resources provided are accessible and available to everyone.
• Fee Contributions: A yearly fee is required for participation in any of C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection’s programs. This helps cover the operational expenses and ensures the longevity of our services.
• Financial Transparency: Financial practices will be transparent, and members will have access to the necessary information to understand how funds are being managed. Questions or concerns about financial matters are always welcome.
Compliance with Local Laws & Regulations
C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection programs operate in compliance with local laws and regulations concerning educational activities. Our programs are designed to provide electives, STEM-based learning, and enrichment activities rather than core subjects. It’s important that all families understand and respect the legal framework within which we operate.
• Legal Compliance: Members should acknowledge and respect the local MD homeschooling laws and educational regulations, especially as they pertain to any activities related to homeschooling, tutorials, or the umbrella services provided.
• Elective-Based Learning: Please note that C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection focuses on electives and enrichment activities. Families seeking core curriculum support will need to seek those resources through other means, either independently or through other local programs.
Respect for Privacy & Confidentiality
As a community, we value the privacy of our members. Any personal or sensitive information shared within C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection programs should remain confidential. We also respect the privacy of children and their individual learning needs.
• Privacy Matters: All personal or sensitive information shared within the community should be kept confidential. Members should not share such information outside of C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection without explicit permission.
• Safety & Well-being: The safety of all children involved in our programs is a top priority. If any safety concerns arise, they should be reported immediately to program leaders or administrators.
Looking Ahead
As C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection continues to grow, our programs may expand to include additional services and opportunities. While the principles outlined above will always guide our actions, the specifics of certain programs (like tutorials, umbrella services, or specialized workshops) may evolve to meet the needs of our members. We will continue to communicate any updates or changes to ensure that everyone is informed and aligned with our community goals.
Final Thoughts
By participating in any of C.R.E.A.T.E. Connection’s programs, families are not just contributing to a single educational initiative, but to a broader community of learners, teachers, and families. Together, we strive to create an environment where learning, collaboration, and support thrive. Your involvement and adherence to these guidelines are key to maintaining the positive, respectful, and dynamic space we all aim to build.
